AHMA International Roundtable


On Tuesday morning of the International Hardware Fair/Practical World exhibit in Cologne, Germany a group of industry executives gathered in the AHMA Pavilion’s conference room to discuss international trade from an American manufacturer point of view. Participating in the discussion were Dan Ekberg,vice president-sales, Diamond Machining Technology; Marie Schmitt, HD Hudson Mfg. Co.; Joe Pires, president, McKim Group; John Simmons, director international sales, Rust-Oleum; Ed Slinsky, manager of international operations, Standard Abrasives; Terry Gallagher, Editor & Publisher, The Hard Fax and Tim Farrell, president and CEO, AHMA.
The group discussed such matters as how to enter new markets, the value of the dollar versus the euro, American product quality perception in the world view, trade barriers, U.S. government trade assistance services and related topics.

AHMA Pavilion Opens

3.9.08 Exhibitors at the American Hardware Manufacturers Association AHMA/USA Pavilion celebrate the opening of the show with a ribbon cutting Sunday morning fifteen minutes prior to the official 9 a.m. kickoff at the 2008 International Hardware Fair/Practical World in Cologne, Germany.
Over 50 American hardware/home improvement manufacturers seeking to expand international operations and supply the global marketplace are participating in the Pavilion Program.
Products exhibited within this year’s pavilion include building materials, electrical, hand and power tools, hardware, housewares, lawn and garden, paint and decorating and plumbing along with wholesalers/distributors marketing a broad range of programs and services.
